Replacment of Astro Spectra Consolette
We have a problematic Astro Spectra Consolette with tone remotes on a trunked system. Is is possible to replace the ASC with a Quantar station (running it as a subscriber unit, not a repeater)

Thank you -
Re: Replacment of Astro Spectra Consolette
To elaborate, the Quantar was never offered with the capability to act as a "subscriber" on a trunking system.
Your choices are more-or-less restricted to the Consolette products which also include the Astro Spectra Plus, the XTL5000 and now the APX.

To expand upon xmo's post above, you *can* do this, but only in VHF/UHF conventional, and there are certain limitations (frequency spread, antenna relay requirement, etc). But xmo is most definitely correct, not in a trunking environment, nor in 800/900 conventional.

Replace it with a mobile with an external wireline/tone remote board.spareparts wrote:We have a problematic Astro Spectra Consolette with tone remotes on a trunked system. Is is possible to replace the ASC with a Quantar station (running it as a subscriber unit, not a repeater)
