I have a R2670 and am trying to perform front end filter alignment on my APX. I set a test signal with no modulation at -14dbm at the lowest test frequency and the RSSI number barely spiked. The tuner complained check input rf signal. I tried the highest frequency and the tuner was able to perform auto tune but only when it is at 0dbm. I was connected to the GEN out port of the analyzer.
any idea why this is happening

Re: Front End Filter Alignment on APX
Just an FYI to check on your monitor......
BOTH the generator out AND the RF ANTENNA ports ( BNC connectors ) are fused.
Simply unscrew the BNC and check the little green pico fuses.
They are like 1/16 amp or something very small.

Re: Front End Filter Alignment on APX
Is this a legit radio or an ALT radio? I've seen ALT radios do real funky things when tuning the FEF.

I actually had another 2670 and all is well now.

If you value the life of your monitor, do not replace these with higher-amperage fuses. They are there to protect the generator and receive circuitry from overload should you accidentally key a radio into them, or hit them with a strong near-field RF source.
