DAYTON 2013 - Who is in? The official 2013 thread
Im not wasting any time starting this thread this year
IM DEFINITELY GOING!
ill be looking for a XTS5000 in UHF and any other P25 i can find, aswell as may look at a DMR radio too.
it would be nice to find a DMR that can be set to open squelch for general scanning of local commercial DMR systems.
ill be Bringing analog, and for digital...P25, NXDN
VHF XTS3000 mod 2
UHF XTS3000 Mod 2 (Yellow)
VHF Icom F3161DS (NXDN digital)
UHF Icom F4161DT (NXDN digital)
i may go old school and bring my MX360 with DES for 151.880
heres some topics i bring up each year in this thread.....
Frequencies.....the usual list
Name Frequency Service PL

it seems each year, most of the batlabs guys stay in the area of miller rd...
Last year i met a group of guys at the golden corral on miller road, it really wasnt hard to get a seat like some members suggested it would be.
i have made a list of all the eating establishments on miller road i could find i have included them below,i think the list represents a full range of eating interests.
Moderators.....
can you make this a sticky, and set up a single poll with the following to select 2 options or 2 polls if it allows.

No
Maybe

Re: DAYTON 2013 - Who is in? The official 2013 thread
I might be going this year again ( with the same friend who came along last year ). Only this time, we won't be staying at the Days Inn ( NIGHTMARE !!! ). We arrived late on Friday, so the only real day we had was all day Saturday, and we left late Saturday night to head back to RI. This time around we'd be leaving Thursday morning, arriving Thursday evening, and then depart Sunday AM.
If I do go, I'll be bringing my FPP XTS5000R UHF radio with me. Along with some Jedi toys.

Re: DAYTON 2013 - Who is in? The official 2013 thread
I've been going for almost every year for the last ten years. I've always used P25 to talk to other batlabs peeps, and observe some of the chaos on the various freqs.
Is anyone using any TRBO simplex freqs that they want to share? There seems to be quite the migration from P25 to TRBO amongst a lot of the hobby crowd.

I'll be there listening on VHF and UHF channels already listed above in mixed mode or P25.
There was questions about xts or apx for sale being there: there have seen some in the past. Caution on those trick flashcodes I have seen make me nervous.
I am hunting for quantar parts like CLN6961 and CLN6955

As for TRBO, I dont know about any formal simplex, but I'll have mine along scanning all MURS, 146.52 and 147.555.

I didn't think it was that bad last year, 'til they tried to stick me in a room that had no A/C. They changed my room, but I know that hotel was booked solid, and I cant help but to wonder what poor soul got stuck with that hot ass room. Oh well, I will be back there this year, anyway.MT2000 man wrote:.... Only this time, we won't be staying at the Days Inn ( NIGHTMARE !!! )..
