If you had the choice to buy either an R2600B or a R2008D for the same price, which would you buy? and why?

R2600B
R200XD is easier to use due to the information on the front panel that you have to bounce around screens on the R2600 for though.
The R2600 is smaller and more capable with an external display capability as well as having a better tracking gen.
The self test is more sophisticated giving a higher level of confidence of the unit working when you you the calibration test.
Both are solid units though and very reliable having been refined over the years ...the R2600 core RF design did not seem to change over time ...just the processor and display.

I wasn't aware any of the R2000 series had a tracking generator.

not really supported ...just turn on the duplex gen with 0 offset ...only tried it on D series

response is not always flat depending on the frequency being used as well...always used a jumper first to see what flat response looked like,
Usually provided a decent visualization of the response curve but actual insertion loss and rejection values would have to be determined at the point frequencies manually.
