Hey Guys,
I've got an XTL5000 w3 which is a model M20QTS9PW1AN and for some reason I can't get the power button to work on the hand piece. When the power button is hit it just beeps as if the button isn't programmed.
I've looked through CPS and DEPOT and been unable to fix it or find any reference to the power button. When you look at the buttons in the CodePlug on the Orange button and right button show up.
Any help would be great!

Re: XTL5000 M20QTS9PW1AN won't power off
Is the interconnect board for a W3, W4/5/7/9 or O series?
Re: XTL5000 M20QTS9PW1AN won't power off
My understanding is that its a W7.
I have looking through the options a million times. The only thing close to "ignition sense" that I can find is "Ignition Switch" which has 3 options which are "Blank" - "Tx Inhibit" & "PTT Tx Inhibit".... This is driving me insane.

That does sound a little strange. I've only seen a few O3 head XTL5000 radios. I don't have your model, but the M20URS9PW1AN O3 codeplug I have shows all the options for Ingition Switch...Soft Power Off, Required, Power On Ignition Only, plus what you list.
In the "tools" menu...go to "change control head"...it should show that you currently have an "O3/O5" head. Is that what is shows?

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

He says he is using a W3 head and it was originally a W7 by the sounds of it. Won't work that way. You need a W3 interconnect to get the power button to work. Hardware issue.
