It would really help for you to tell us what model radio you are asking about. The answer is different for every model made.kd8ses wrote:does any one know where i would put radio id numbers into the radio thru the software
It would also help a bunch to know what kind of ID you want to use.
Re: radio ids on a 800 radio
radio is a XTS5000
Re: radio ids on a 800 radio
Steve, i have a XTS 5000 I AM LOOKING INTO PUTING SOME RADIO IDS LIKE 911351- ID WOULD BE MEDIC 211. so its the radio id number thats transmitted when they talk.

Still not enough info. Is this over a trunked system? Digital or analog? MDC ID or other?kd8ses wrote:Steve, i have a XTS 5000 I AM LOOKING INTO PUTING SOME RADIO IDS LIKE 911351- ID WOULD BE MEDIC 211. so its the radio id number thats transmitted when they talk.

Caps lock and spelling... oh my. Try Trunking Call List.kd8ses wrote:Steve, i have a XTS 5000 I AM LOOKING INTO PUTING SOME RADIO IDS LIKE 911351- ID WOULD BE MEDIC 211. so its the radio id number thats transmitted when they talk.
Re: radio ids on a 800 radio
yes its on a digital trunked system.
Re: radio ids on a 800 radio
Considering 911351 isn't a valid MDC, it would be digital ID.Still not enough info. Is this over a trunked system? Digital or analog? MDC ID or other?
OP: It's called Astro Call List or Trunking Call List.
Schrodinger's Radio: It is simultaneously too loud and too quiet, but you will never know which until someone transmits.

I knew that. Just trying to coax the OP to put enough info on the table so that someone could answer his question correctly.tuckerm wrote:Considering 911351 isn't a valid MDC, it would be digital ID.Still not enough info. Is this over a trunked system? Digital or analog? MDC ID or other?
Re: radio ids on a 800 radio
ok guys sorry for all this confusion i was trying to figure out for a friend on our trunked radio system how his department could program there radios up. So they don't see number ids on the display screen of the radio instead they would see the alpha tag on the radio is self i.e. medic 3 or dispatch-1 i just need how to tell him were to put the radio id numbers such as 911351 please excuse my lack of knowledge on this issue
Re: radio ids on a 800 radio
We have answered your question above. You need to go into ASTRO Call List or Trunking Call List within the CPS.

Don't forget, you will need a sys key for said operation...
Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...
