hey all,
i was just wondering if the mtx8000 or mtx9000 was offered in vhf? motorola's site doesnt specify frequency ranges and all i have seen is 800 and 900 MHz radios! ??? any info appreciated!
what freqs. are offered on mtx series radios!

That's because the MTX8000 is an 800MHz radio and the MTX9000 is a 900Mhz radio. There are also MTX838s which are on UHF.FFCARTER46 wrote:hey all,

All three MTX models are trunking radios although they can also do conventional. Some do typeI while others do TypeI, II, and IIi trunking.
Because there are no VHF trunked SMR systems (as the MTX line was meant for business SMR systems), there is no VHF MTX radio. However, the MTX's cousin, the MTS2000 comes in VHF, UHF and 800Mhz although not 900Mhz as it was meant to be a Public Safety radio with the trunked models supporting Smartnet trunking and encryption.

thanks for the replys! my county operates on 800 mhz trunking! all county govt, fire, PWs, etc uses mts2000! which i also use! i have several vhf radios and was just looking to add to my collection! thanks! just out of curiosity, about how much does the mtx838 run???

Yes, the MTX2000 is an over-seas radio. The MTX 8000/9000 B3 VHF/UHF equivalent would be the HT1000. Both are identical.
