Interfacing a Consolette to a quantar RT/RT
Is it possible to interface a XTL5000 Consolette to a quantar via v.24 RT/RT? I need to link 2 VHF Quantars via 800 MHZ.

If you want to support P25 over the V.24 sync interface then no, there is no synchronus serial interface on the XTL. While there is the theoretical option of using the XTLs to implement an IP link via the internal P25 stack it isn't fast enough for the V.24 9600 bps payload.
If you just want analog then no problem. You just need to make up the necessary cables. Unless you're talking about using a trunking system for the 800MHz backhaul.

Here is the whole story. If you can help, any and all is appreciated. We have 2 vhf Quantar repeaters in p25 That we would like to link via an unused 800mhz pair we have. We have 2 800mhz quantar repeaters, The orig idea was to link via v.24 between the vhf and 800 machines. This works on one end, but does not on the other because the 800mhz quantar is not able to Have the freq flipped. I am looking for options, Thanks

You are right, the 800 MHz Quantar receiver only covers 806-825 MHz while the transmitter only covers 851-870 MHz, so interworking is not possible.
The solution I would implement is a Cisco router at each end to encapsulate the V.24 in IP, them use either the county microwave or your own IP link, possible Cambian or Ubiquiti (if money is an issue).

Unfortunately I do not have a good path between sites, Trees. Pesky critters. I will keep researching and see if we can figure this out.

You can do this but would need 4 800 MHz mobiles
You can run these as one set of 2 mobiles (1 TX and 1 RX)
Then the opposite on the other side.
The trick is you need 2 telenetics modems that can run leased line backhaul
You can wire up the receive audio of the mobile to the TX side of the 4 wire modem, transmit to the opposite and the modem and these will sync between the RF link
From here, the modems will provide external clock V.24 to the stations

If the lights are out when you leave the station and then come on the second you key up, you know you have enough power.

If you are going to go to that complexity why not used licence free 900 MHz Ubiquity? Sure the 800 MHz mobiles might have more power but you'll need to crank them down a long way to get any life out them. Mobiles just are not designed for 100% transmit duty cycle.

You'll also need either a duplexer or two antennas at each end. Without those the far link end cannot interrupt the local link end while it is transmitting.
