Sync 03 control head to xtl500

I have a XTL500 model M20Kts9PW1AN and a O3 control head that I am trying to sync with the radio. This radio has previously had a O3 control head on it. When I try to sync the new head to the radio it fails. It doesn't like the cvn file I have.

I was just reading the XTL1500 User Guide 6815850H01 and this doc mentions nothing
about any remote head or 03 head capability
