GP series R03.16.00 problem.

Post by E74D »

Hello.
I have few GP340 and GP360 radios with labeled version R03.16.00 ( CPL 8.0) that I can not read with CPS R03.11.15 and R03.11.16. I have error message that " "Couldn't open port. Check whether Device/RIB are powered on or not, and the device to rib, and the rib to pc connection is ok."

Gp360 display goes blank when I enter Read radio command on CPS but shortly after I have error message. First time experiencing this stuff.
I am using genuine RIB and XP computer with RS232 port, not USB based ribless cable.

Can someone tell me what are my options? Maybe repeat the flash to the same R03.16.00 or another firmware? Anything else?

Thanks.

I have to reply to my self! Anyway, problem is gone! It turned out to be simple connection problem. One of the 3 contacts of the programming cable adapter did not placed on the metalic surface on the radio but on the plastic insulation beside instead.
Radio is read and write easily with CPS R03.11.16.
Bye.
