Programing HT1250

Do I need to put the radio in any mode to program / Read ?
HT1250 VHF - with limited keypad
Using a RIB and Cable (meant for a RIB)

No.

Connect RIB to PC and radio to RIB.
Be sure the connections are secure.
Turn on PC and boot RSS.
Turn on RIB.
Turn on radio.
Go to "File|Read Device".
Save the file to disk.
Edit it to fit your needs.
Write the file to the radio ("File|Write Device").
If it writes OK, disconnect radio and verify proper performance.
Write the file to disk.

One other thing, read the codeplug the first time and save it as 'original' and add a date stamp if you wish to the name. Modify this file and after you program the radio, save the modified codeplug under a new name, in case you ever corrupt your codeplug you can retrieve the 'original' to write back into the radio.
