Maratrac HHCH Question

Post by Jaqx »

I've got a Maratrac hand held control head install that only scans in carrier squelch. I've changed the RSS settings to disable the CSQ scan and I've programmed the off hook scan to disable. It still scans in CSQ and picks up distant traffic (great ears on that thing.) The mic hook is grounded and tested.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Jaqx

This is a used unit that didn't come with a hang up box. Can I use a typical hang up box from another radio? Where do the wires from the hang up box go?

Don't mean to sound stupid but, I don't think I have ever used the factory hang up box in a Maratrac installation, of course this is the first HHCH installation I've done.

Thanks much,

Jaqx

OR instead of a hang up box, you can find the plug , one of the two prong white connecters close to the accessory/ HHCH plug- in and jumper it ... first with a test clip lead to check that you have the right one. By jumping the right connector the radio sees itself as in the hang-up box.. Please note that you need to use monitor button to open and close / check channel for non-pl or different pl traffic. I will look for manual and let you know which connector it is but should be an open one.
