You could use a high split - low band MICOR mobile.

They duplex easly.

I have heard a lot of praise in the past on the board over the Mitrek's receiver on LB. It might be worth a look. Good luck with your project.

How far away are the sites? You might try using 1 GHz or higher for the links. That's what they are good for: point to point.

If you find you must use 70 cm, then keep it horizonal, as to reduce the interference from vertical users as much as 20 db. Run PL on the link, it's the best way to avoid having another dx link running on the same freq from keying up your base. I don't want to sound like a grumpy old man [because I'm not] but I'd suggest that you use only enough power for the link to be reliable. A good beam should be able to provide plenty of gain. If the power is too high on the link, you will risk causing interference with other links, maybe in far away lands. Also, the lower power you use on the link, the easier it will be to get coordinated. :)

If you need any help, feel free to email or PM me. I'd be glad to help. :)

Last year, I did a split-site repeater on 33 MHz with a 470 link. I use a Mitrek for XMT and RCV. A 2 channel Radius is the receiver for the like and a GP300 is the transmitter for the link. The lowband antennas are trombone style. The link antennas are 1/4 wave with ground radials. I use a DPL code on the link. Distance between the sites is approx. 3/4 of a mile.

This repeater was $$$cheap$$$ and works great! We can now talk 40 miles with a lowband MT1000.
