Spectra Remote Mount Heads

Post by F1118 »

Im not sure what type of head I have on my spectra but its either an A/4, B/4, or C/4 Head judging my the picture in the Motorola Gallery on this site. My questions is .... What type of remote mount will work with this model? Also Is there a Mic that has everything on it like the astro spectra W3 Handheld control head that would work with my model? Im looking to mount the radio in the trunk or under the seat to save some space.

Thanks

The A4, B4 or C4 control head hardware is all the same.

The Spectra code plug determines what type of control head you can use. In addition, the serial number and model number is imbedded in the code plug data. So, the Radio Service Software (RSS) makes life difficult by only wanting to use the original code plug that came with the radio. Look at the old Spectra postings on this board and the main Batlabs site for more information.

The Hand Held Control Head (HHCH) Spectra with a single radio drawer has a special interconnect board, a special MLM and a special code plug. Here is an older posting with information and some other links about remote mounting to check out:

The Astro Spectra HHCH is unique to the Astro radio. If you have a Spectra radio drawer forget about the Astro HHCH. The Spectra HHCH looks like the old MaraTrac, Syntor X and Syntor X 9000 HHCH. It only has a 2 digit numeric display and very limited control switches.
