THE BAT BOARDS RULE..............................
Yes.
Just enter the frequency in the tone frequency field. Double ** will appear in the code field.
i dont understand can you clerifiy what you mean please cause i want to make sure it will befor i buy the radios.
they will be running on a uhf maxtrac 300 GR300 repeater
thanks!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. are the 2 stars were the extra 2 digit non standard pl code gos

the spacing between pl's is designed so that there are no harmonics of the lower tones that fall on the higher ones and also keep enough space between to prevent false trigering. That is why you should not mess with in between tones. take 103.5 and 107.2. if you decided to put a 105.1 odd tone in then you would fall on 210.2 with the harmonic and hit the real 210.whatever pl. Just use a DPL and save the grief potential.

If you really insist on using a non-standard PL code, check out these folks for some "standard" non-standard PL Codes. It's on page 5 of the pdf doc.
Read the advisory on the bottom section of the tone squelch chart.

Then why do you do it??? CONTINUALLY. Go back and delete everything and type it normal! jee whiz.PCX1612 wrote:OH I AM SORRY DID I MENTION IT WILL BE ON UHF GMRS REPEATER THAT WILL BE 2 UHF MAXTRAC 300 HIGH SIGNALLING RADIOS
sorry about the caps
And why do you go on a public forum and tell everyone you are hacking DTV and cellular phones. Those are crimes that carry with them serious consequences and I wouldn't exactly want the whole world to know, esp since there are so many FCC law abiding citizens here (yeah right). If I were a bank robber, I would not put "BANK LOVER/ROBBER" on my posts, you... why you... you tard.

lordy lordy lordy lordy.
Well, I did not know that was your signature. I thought you typed it out every time exactly the same.
There's a difference between hacking codeplugs and hacking cellphones. One is legal, the other is not.
Going back to the topic, I think you have a concern that using a standard pl tone will give you some added sense of security, like no one will be able to hack your gmrs repeater (what kind of repeater is it again, can you please tell us again) . Well, anyone can do a tone scan on your system, even me, and I can go in there on my field programmable radio and I can break in and say all kinds of things legally with a GMRS license because you are required to share, and your check for $75 will be your acknowlegment of this. And since it won't be hard to find you because your address will be there for all to see, we will all know exactly where to go to give you a hard time and use your frequencies.

it is 2 maxtrac 300 radios and its uhf and with a rick.
and since you are saying you want to scan my freq and use it i guess i will just have to program 32 channels each radio and program a different pl for each one and just change the rx and tx channel on the maxtrac radios everyday.
solve that problem

Yes = I would agree This post has taken a turn for the worst.
I see no reason to attack the other individual about his signature when the other persons signature says they are an EXROTIC DANCER / I dont know what everyone else thought when they saw that /but it made my mind wonder more so about this member than others. ( And no not that way-just in case some of you went out into left field)
I wouldnt have said anything but when someone casts the first stone by saying ( You tard ) or whatever the exact words were it sorta heads for a bad conversation and its not the first time ive noticed this individual causeing a ruckus here on the bd.
And im about to take notice and bring it up for all to take notice and see if it cant be taken care of once and for all.
ENOUGH SAID ON THAT SUBLECT FOR THE MOMENT AND HOPEFUL IT DOESNT GET BROUGHT BACK UP AGAIN AND BECOMES WATER UNDER THE BRIGDE SO TO SPEAK.
AS TO THE SUB AUDIBLE PL TONE QESTION:
It would appear that from the above posts that the HT750 does indeed accept NON STANDARD PL TONES.
And i was impressed to see a post that indicated that a certain member had some knowlegde on harmonics in regards to PL subadile tones .
And yes he has a very valid point in his posting.
However take into consideration that the last so called pl tone is 250.3 hz.
And since its a pl tone and not a tone as in 2 tone seqencial that is sent much higher in level than the pl we are refering to here consider this point as well when reading further below.
Take a non standard pl tone thats over 130.0 hz in level and do your harmonics theory on it and see if in fact you dont eliminate the pl falsing with the lower non standards to the higher standard pl tones.
So yes you can and will have some pl falsing on the lower non standard pls but will wind up eliminating the falsing by using a non standard pl as long as you stay up above 130.0 hz when using the non standard pl.
And as a lot of you all already know id like to state for those that dont that a ( PL ) or a ( CTCSS ) or a ( SUB AUDILE TONE ) are in fact one and the same but often refered to in these names but again are exactly the same.
I like seeing posts as to the harmonics ect because it proves to me that we do most certainly have some very smart members here on the bd and when i see a post as such it jogs my brain some to investigate his remarks and in the wind up improves all of us in these subjects.
Again appologies extended to anyone that was offended and i truly hope that some good can be had from this and all not so good posts ect.

Another source of suggested non-standard PL tones for those who have a reason for wanting one is the the Zetron or CSI manuals. I believe these selections have been tested for harmonic falsing, though they may still present problems of selectivity falsing.
Modern tone panels are sophisticated enough to reliably detect PLs with a narrower "channel spacing" that older equipment. The problem arises when you use a non-standard tone on a system some of the mobiles and portables on which cannot handle the narrow spacing between "standard" and non-standard PLs -- either because they won't accept them for programming or because they will false because of selectivity (as opposed to harmonics).

HI - I WOULD USE PL 60.0 THAT IS WHAT I USE ON ALL MY REPEATORS AND IT WORKS GRATE. KEEPS OUT ALL THE OTHERS THAT WONT TO USE MY REPEATOR BUT I DONT WONT THEM TOO.
THIS IS A GRATE FOROM AND I RELLY LIKE THE TOPICS AND THE DISCUSIONS - I HAVE LERNED A LOT.

JACK= LOL I'm glad to see someone else has a sense of humor.
To anyone who thought I was being rude= I was just messing around with him, you have to admit that it is irresitable to not make mention of some of those things. This goes back to the other post "VHF REPEATER ANTENNA". I wasn't trying to be mean or malicious. Only joking around, but I learned my lesson, so PCX, please accept my appauleigy. I honestly thought you were trying to get some reaction with some of your comments though.

appoligies accepted. thats fine.
i was just makeing a point and on a serious note cause i dont want to screw this stuff up you know.
i am sure we all been in this situation when we built our first repeaters.
but i have no problem with anyone on the batlabs. instead i think that everyone is cool.
their was just some miscommunications thats all.
its cool

OK I guess it went right over everybodys heads like a skyrocket and that is why I am still laughing so hard. 60.0 Hz is line frequency !!!!!!
Any reciever with the shightest hum in its audio from the local power lines
or its power supply would NEVER CLOSE SQUELCH !!!!!!!
Conversely any power supply hum in a transmitted signal would open all recievers even if it were not xmiting pl etc, etc, etc.
60.0 HERTZ IS A JOKE GUYS. ( and a good one at that Jack , kinda like the metric left handed crescent wrench) Come on guys,
keep sharp and catch these ! Phrawg

Ahem. I try, I really do.
Thank you , thank you, thank you. (bows slightly to the crowd).
"One never knows, do one?" A line from one of my favorite book series starring Archy McNally.
I had been following these threads, and I just couldn't resist. Not knowing some radio basics, and then supposedly building a repeater, was just to good to pass up.
Hope no one is TOO offended, but I can't stop giggling........

Yeah, keep on keeping on there, Jack... The 60Hz PL tone idea is the best idea I heard all day.jcobb wrote:HI - I WOULD USE PL 60.0 THAT IS WHAT I USE ON ALL MY REPEATORS AND IT WORKS GRATE. KEEPS OUT ALL THE OTHERS THAT WONT TO USE MY REPEATOR BUT I DONT WONT THEM TOO.

But seriously.. typing in all caps is teh suxxxorz!!!!!!1111!!
equipment aint crap on getting... programing is what stuck me but i have the software and rib i just need to get the cable i have somone i know who is going to help me on the programing. i read on how to do it just reading online a buch of different sites ideas on their theory but figured the best way was togo vhf but then come to find out business band was that aand i already bought the vhf radios and other stuff needed to build the repeater. so i had to swap radios with uhf gmrs freqs radios but now i have done that alredy as far as swaping the radios from vhf to uhf.
so i basically i have everything now just need the duplexer and antenna

That was great Jack, I wasn't sure how much longer I was going to be able to hold my laughter in.

I am also building a GMRS repeater, BUT I have been researching everything carefully, on my own , and then asking my questions when I couldn't go any further. I have read ALL of the batboard threads and printed out what I needed to help me complete my project.
This way, I don't waste the time of the gracious experts (on this board), and I get the assistance that I need. Asking good questions, respecting others, making the effort to be legal and not flameing people get you help, being a wisea$$, insulting people and waisting people's time is a sure was to get nowhere fast here!
Just my thoughts and opinions, your mileage may vary.
Oh and Jack, Wait for the shake......... There you go.......I'll get it later.
