HEY,
I JUST PURCHASED ANOTHER MTS2000 FULL KEYPAD. WHEN I GO INTO SERVICE MODE MANUALLY ON THE RADIO IT SHOWS SOFTWARE VERSION, MODEL NUMBER, SERIAL NUMBER, AND THEN GOES TO RF TEST. I WAS WONDERING WHY IT DOESNT SHOW THE FLASHCODE. IT HAS AN EARLY SOFTWARE VERSION OF 1.42 . I WAS WONDERING IF THIS MAY BE WHY? IF SO THROUGH WHAT VERSION DOES IT NOT SHOW THE FLASHCODE? I THOUGHT IT MAY BE THE SOFTWARE VERSION BEING AN EARLY VERSION BUT WASNT SURE! I CANT READ THE RADIOS OR ANYHTING I JUST AQUIRE THEM FOR LOCAL FIRE DEPTS AND RESCUE SQUADS. ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! THANKS

1.42 is a pre-FlashPort version radio. That is why it wouldn't show a flashcode. If it's a pre-flashport radio it's probably pre-toolproof as well. Which means... you can use LabWare on it without making a doorstop just by the software taking a sniff.

Yes it's a pre-tool proof radio however, most MTX8000's were 1.37 or 1.42 so you *may* have a MTX in a MTS case....food for thought. If you open the radio up and post the part number of the controller, I (plus others) can tell you for sure.
Also, I have a 5.44 MTS that doesn't display the flashcode in the display either from test mode and I assume that it doesn't because it is the original flashcode in the radio and has not been flash upgraded. This being the case, the flash code is listed on the back of the radio at the bottom of the label 0000010000009 for mine which is correct.

numbers
ok im seeing a few numbers here:
on the front housing of the radio with the speaker and keypad(which i assume is the controller?) it has: JEDI 15 KEY NTN7154A 08-18-1995
and on the back housing with the radio part it has 10-07-1994 NTN7087A on the ribbon connecting the ABC switch and PTT buttons.
also the flashcode on the rear of the radio is 2000040000002. which is smartnet and 250 modes.
hope this helps you help me! thanks

The controller is on the back 1/2 of the radio at the bottom. The part number is on the back of the board. However, if you notice a socket on the right side of the controller (this would be the secure socket) then you for sure have a MTS. Most MTS' have these sockets, the older ones usually won't as they were hit or miss.
