Tessco and other giant suppliers UPDATE

Post by apco25 »

Looking for an online source to order supplies for personal use (can't order personal stuff through our work accounts with the various vendors, DARN!)

Tessco has been the big name for years now along with Hutton and a few others.

Anyone know if you can establish semi personal accounts with them before I go asking them directly?

If your organization has an account w/ Tessco, you can log in under your company account, place your order, and, when you get to the payment screen, put in your credit card number and your shipping address.
We do it here all the time. Never done much with Hutton, haven't tried it w/ /\/\.

TESSCO will gladly open a person account for you. Go to http://www.tessco.com -- works only with IE.

Tessco isn't bad for some of the off the wall stuff... but you can save a lot of money by going to the local hardware store or auto parts store.

6 output fuse block Tessco: $24.99 AutoZone: $8.99

That is only 1 example I've noticed off hand.... I'm sure they are a lot better with other things.

Talley's

Post by kd6kml »

We use Talley Communications for our supplies. They have good prices without the large monthly order minimums like Tessco. I work in a very small shop and the owner has been dealing with Talley's I think since they started up about 20 years ago.

I would agree that Talley's is an excellent company to order your stuff from. They only have a $50.00 minimal order!

I got an email from Tessco the other day apologizing for not properly activating my account and login into their site. They've since rectified the problem and I now have full access and a personal tessco account number that I was supposed to have a month ago.
