First what did you program into it? Do you have the LAB program? If it worked before it will probably be OK, sounds like it got a bad program. Also, what error is it giving?

Sounds almost like the internal fuse blew for some reason if it's acting completely dead. Usually the Maxtrac will emit an error tone of some sort if it's a logic/codeplug issue. Check the fuse located inside near the 16-pin accessory connector & give a shout back if that's not it.

Ok, which error tone? In trunking maxtracs you can get 6 different error tones upon wakeup. It can be a low pitched tone (163Hz) for 5 seconds after turn on, 450Hz tone for 1 second followed by illegal function tone, or a contiuous pattern of 1,2,3, or 5 beeps (1000Hz) followed by a pause after turn on.
The first one can usually be cleared by retuning any value in the "service alignment", programming the softpot and exiting properly out of the alignment screens. The second can usually be cleared by dumping a known good backup codeplug into the radio. The other 4 are more serious, and may require a new logic board, or at the very least have someone experienced with the Maxtrac have a look at it, like your local MSS or Monty.
Also, what type of computer & operating system you were using?
