Can someone tune my Syntor X-9000?

Post by Jack »

Hey guys. I'm wondering if someone like Mike B, or anyone else who knows the Syntor X9000 UHF really well could tune one for me? I'm using it on GMRS and Ham and it works fine all the way across on the transmit side. My receiver starts to get real weak around 448 mhz though, and I need to be able to receive down to 441, and also up to 462.725. Can anyone help me? I'll pay you, and cover the shipping cost both directions. Mike B? Are you willing to do this for me? Please let me know. Thanks.

Sorry, I do not currently have access to the right test equipment to retune your radio. You might try kc7gr or one of the other Batlab people. kc7gr has a web site:

What radios do you own?: Motorola, Icom, Sunair (HF).

Yes, I have the equipment and the know-how to do this. In fact, I sold a UHF S-X9000 not that long ago that I retuned before it left here.

If you want to do this, PM through the batboard, or E-mail me as sales at bluefeathertech dot com. It'll probably take about half an hour to do it right, and do keep in mind that you'll be sacrificing sensitivity at the high end in order to gain at the low end.

Thanks, Mike B, for the plug. ;-)

Hi Jack,

If you want really wide band RX on the UHF or VHF 9000, the easiest way it to start out by installing a factory preamp (if they're still available). Then carefully do some minor tweaking going back and forth across the band. Works for me.
