800MHz antenna suggestions?

Post by Pj »

Looking for an antenna for my new 800 Astro. For the time being, its going to be on a trunk (hood) lip mount. If anything, it's going to need to cover 859-862 for the moment.

Brands, models, price? I live in the Northeast, and some of the trunk systems that I will also be monitoring can become a challenge. I haven't played with 800 before, so I am not sure who has the better product.

Any yes, it must be black :)

800 MHz Antenna

Post by Dave Mac »

I've had good luck for several years with Stico 800 MHz cell look alike antennas - yes in black always. Most often I used their 800 MHz/VHF combination if you have a need for anything other than 800 MHz. Also used their stand-a-lone antennas when needed - even the little stingers.

Has anyone used that Antennx Discadoo antenna? That would most likely fit under my lightbar, and let me reuse a NMO mount that's already up there..
