Minitor III Vibrate

Post by Mike 701 »

Hi guys, I have a minor problem with my minitor III. VHF 151-159 2 Channel no SV, Model A03YMS7239AC...my problem is when vibrate is activated, the vibator is LOUD! I mine as well not use the tone anymore because the vibator can wake me up by itself! What may be causing this, any way to fix it? Thanks!

typically a loose case, or the motor isn't seated properly.

Open up the pager and verify it's snug placement...

you can also add a piece of foam if needed...

Thanks for the help, next question, how exactly would I get a minitor III open? I've heard it's not exactly easy. Any help is apprecated, thanks!

Remove the screw on the back of the pager near the bottom of the clip.

Next is the hard part.

remove the batteries and put the pager on the table with the speaker pointing into the table. Take a hefty screwdriver and insert it into the battery compartment with the tip about 1/2 way in and towards the outside edge. Now pull the screwdriver down, forcing the tip into the back housing of the pager. The back piece SHOULD pop off on that side... then rest is just pulling it off the rest of the way...

For M3's that's how I've done it... it just doesn't seem right, but that what M told me... therefore I do. :)

Now I am not trying to be a total pain in your @$$ :-D - but, what would you recommend for removing the screw? I can't seem to find a bit that will fit it. It appears to be a very small allan-head wrench bit, but I can't find one small enough. What did you use?

Thanks,
Mike

if you order motorola 6881033b55 it show how to open the unit. you need to go to sears and order 9-45492 locking ring pliers. put the tips of pliers in the side of pager at battery door. this pops the side open. the tool to take the set screw is a 1.5 mm allen wrench.

Hi, I got it open and I tried the foam Idea, after about 45 minutes of trying to get it sealed again, I finally got it! It worked great. New problem, when I put it on c or d (monitor F1, Scan F1/F2) There is no audio. I just hear a quick "click" then the channel opens up but there is barely any audio coming out, the recieve led stays on while the audio is open. The alert tone when I turn it on works loud & clear as does the vibrate. Could a re-program solve this?

Thanks guys,
Mike

Did you unseat the receiver board?

before i rip it apart again, by unseat do you mean the pins? The pins all interconnected when I assembled it, unless you mean something else.

Thanks,

Disregard that, Pager Geek, you were correct. I thought I had double checked for that but apparently not! Works like new, thanks for all your help.
