UHF Spectra Help Needed!

Post by radioconsult »

First, I suffer from Diabetic Eye Disease which I am having a hard time trying to work on small stuff. So, I rewired my mid-power Spectra programming cable and must have got something wrong or created a short. Anyway, When I hooked it to my Motorola factory RIB I created smoke in the radio, now it blows the inline fuse to the 15 pin connector and reads about 70 ohms to ground. I checked my 800 Spectra and it shows above 1K to ground.

Anyway here's my deal I'll trade my working 800 conventional Spectra model D45KMA7JA5AK to someone that is able to repair my UHF Spectra model D44KMA7JA5BK.

I am retired and live on my disability payments so I don't have a lot of money to put into my radio hobby. Also, my RIB must have died too, I can't get it to program anything.

If you can help email me at w5rdf@cox.net

Monty repairs the Motorola RIB and I may be able to repair your UHF Spectra. Probaly best to sent the cable along too so everything can be checked.
