I'll be there

I'll be there - I think I'll wear my old IFR polo shirts (I can't wear them when I see customers, as "IFR" icht verboten and all must be Aeroflex now).

Of course, that could be a mistake as I could get mobbed by people wanting service monitor information...

And I will have my COM-120B in the car with me.

(No, I don't think I'll be able to get a hold of a 2975 lab machine, but I may look into it....)

Just got vacation approved... I am going. Last year picked up three MSF Control Boards and a battery revert power supply that all worked. XTS batteries were a bargin and they still are working well. Will program a Hamfest zone. Doug.

OK, I saw those. I wasn't sure if they had been agreed on or were just random list people were throwing in. Thanks.

Nope, that is what has been used for the past 4 years almost. So we've generally kept with that.

Also... would any of you guys mind doing a joint Batlabs/Hamsexy dinner meet on Friday night?

Since there are a lot of cross memberships between the 2 sites it may make things a little easier.

fest up...

Is there much activity on these channels at Dayton?

Usually... if anyone answers someone calling, its a different story. Some like to be somewhat anonomous.

Thanks! The nice thing about the MURS channels is that you don't have to feel guilty about commercial traffic, as opposed to the Ham channels.

Heh. Think about it....this is the biggest annual gathering of radio/nerd/electronics/computer people in the US. I'm sure there will be, though. I heard that there was a couple people hosting it there last year.

I'm more than likely going to be there, since I live a 1/2 hour away!

When is this dinner thing, and where is it at?

There is a sticky for this. Looks like Saturday and I think Outback Steakhouse is in the lead for votes. Address i'm sure wil be posted somewhere once it's worked out. I know where it is to drive there but not to give directions.

On a different subject, is anyone from Batlabs pitching in on a flea market space? I'd like to get in on that if possible, if only to park a cooler and chair and maybe a radio or two.

The directions are quite simple- take I70 to I75 south, get off at the Benchwood exit, turn west, the first road you'll come to is Miller Ln., go north and you can't miss it. Some of the map programs show an exit directly to Miller Ln. but as of last word IT'S NOT THERE!!!

Outback's address is 6800 Miller Ln.
Lonestar's address is 6868 Miller Ln.

We do need to get a bench count going, I know several members are getting them, so what's your numbers?

I think a covert operation to the roof of Hara is in order

What's the frequency Kenneth?

I will be attending Dayton, and would love to hook up.

I would like to suggest a simplex frequency and pl so that anyone from here will be able to talk with anyone else from here.

I am a ham and GMRS licensee, but maybe some other folks are not so maybe a MURS freq with an odd PL will do the trick?

I hit the Outback a few times during my stay last year, not too far, nice place to meet.

There's already a frequency plan that we use to gather on, and it's posted in this thread.

You can find most of us on those channels... Most of the time, most of us do run digital, but monitor analog if that's all you have.

According to the OARC website (local repeater council), there is one way west of Dayton in a town called Eaton. It says it's on 173.8 PL. It seems far enough away, though, that you shouldn't have any problems. Especially if you run DPL :P

I asked for a room on one of the upper floors of our hotel, since we are about 3-4 air miles max from HARA. So you can put he repeater at my room if you like.

I will bring one. It's a small and easily transported base antenna. I have to find where I put it though and check the specs. Given it's short size(about 2ft long), the gain probably is unity or 2db but it will at least give everyone coverage around the hotel/longhorn, etc.

Similar to this model but tunable:

I'll bring a PL-259 to mini UHF connectors.

I will also have an impres charger on hand.

Anyone charging a battery gets booth duty 'til the charge cycle is over :)

How secure is this booth

How secure is this booth going to be - as in, will there be somebody there at all times, or somebody who can at least move expensive things into a safe place when the booth is not manned?

I *may* be able to grab my 2975, and having a place for it to live at Dayton, rather than it staying in my hotel room, would make testing things much easier for me. Of course, I would in turn allow folks to use it to test their own stuff.
