I just rescued an old MRSS folder from a 10 year old laptop. I somehow got it to work in the "box" on an old XP laptop, but of course it won't communicate with my radio. I bought a new/old copy of Windows 98SE and installed it in place of XP. I put my MRSS folder on the C:\ drive, but now I can't remember how to launch it! Is there anyone familiar with old Astrom that I can possibly email the folder, and get instructions on the exact text I should type into DOS to run it?

Re: Need help reviving Astro MRSS
Assuming it was installed in the default folder, it should go
Code: Select all
C:/>cd mrss/astro
C:/MRSS/ASTRO>astrom (for Astro Mobile)
OR
C:/MRSS/ASTRO>astrop (for Astro Portable)
Re: Need help reviving Astro MRSS
"bad command or filename"

Don't type the "(for astro portable)" or "(for astro mobile)" :)
The bandsplit is only a suggestion.

Hey, I know what I am doing....I've programmed lots of radios in the past.....I also bricked two Sabers in 10 minutes before though....heh
The "astrom" I type references a obd is it file. Iv'e even tried to run runtime with no success. The weird part is I had it working before I went to Win 98...ugh....no hurry.

There should also be astrom.exe and astrop.exe files. If those are missing, well.. there's yer problem.
edit: Or did I misread your last post, and the .exe files are there but the .odb files are missing? Either way the outcome is the same.

There's no astrom.exe. Runtime -o astrom.odb.
