MT1000 cloning

Post by KI4LTX »

I have just received a large number of MT1000 99 channel VHF units to repurpose (Commercial to Ham). I have set up the first unit (this is my first experience with the MT1000, but have a fair amount with other Motorola radios). I see now that there is no "clone" feature in the RSS to copy the frequency and channel options to other radios. Is a cloning cable the only way of programming the others with the new setup? I really don't want to edit every individual codeplug, nor do I want to write the tuning information from one radio to another. Thanks!

It's been a while, but IIRC, you simply use the write function everytime...it's not serial number specific, similar to the HT/CDM series. The tuning values should not transfer.
No trees were harmed in the posting of this message...however an extraordinarily large number of electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

No cloning, simply write to all the like bandsplit radios and align after.
