We just had Motorola upgrade a PM1500 to P25 capable. (G806) I must be missing something because I can't find where to program the NAC. This is on a conventional channel.(Non-Trunking)

The radio is a M79KTD9PW5AN, Flashcode:500041-000000-0, Options:G48 (Convental Systems Operation)/G806 (ASTRO Digital Operation)/G114 (Enhanced Digital ID Display) & G791 (XTL1500 Enhanced Software Capabilities.

I don't have that much experience with the PM1500, any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

On the XTS series, should be the same as the PM, you have to create an astro personality in the "conventional--conventional personality" screen. Then go to the "zone channel assignment" screen input your frequencies and select that astro personality from the drop down list under the "personalities #" column. When you do that it should turn the NAC colums at the very end of the row from gray to white so you can change the NAC.

It goes through APB but there is a form you can fill out from MOL. IIRC it's $400 per radio or thereabouts.

Thank you I will try and contact Motorola to get the form.

I'm assuming I have to send the radio in to get the upgrade done.. its not as simple as them sending me a software upgrade?

Nah it's a flashkey dongle you plug into your PC. No need to send it in
