Mototrbo XPR4550 Issues

Hi guys,
I programming a new out of the box XPR4550 (450-512) , remote head installed, with Mototrbo RSS version 8.5 build (429). No issues getting into it, I programmed some channels and set it up, seemed fine. After programming I lost use of the channel up/down buttons along with the "OK" button. When I push the menu button I cannot select anything like scan or utilities. Also the scan was programmed at P1 along with the can list programmed correctly and it will not scan. Any Idea's what the problem is with the buttons not responding correctly. I understand that the channel up/down is not even programmable and it will not respond.
Thank you

I'm assuming this all worked before you converted it to remote? All your flexes still plugged in correctly? Check your 'menu' check boxes. I would convert it back to dash mount and see if the issue disappears. Is each channel in the zone list a member of the scan list? Is the scan list populated??

Ok I switched it back to original and the buttons work fine. Guess the issue is with the remote. It is OEM and appears correct when connected. I dont know??

What firmware version? You need to make sure the radio has a newer firmware version, older versions don't support the remote. I can't remember offhand when the rollout was.

The OEM remote kit shows 1.04 firmware is required; I think. Interestingly enough I have remoted a new out of the box XPR4580 w/ 1.00 firmware and had no issues..

What version is the 4550? The 4580 is not the same firmware path.

I am going by the OEM remote kit instruction manual for that style radio, it does not break down between the 4550 and the 4580..

I would still flash the radio with the newest firmware and try again.
