i have a lot of pm400 radios 465 to 470Mhz i need to program them into 461.000 i am sure i could check some hex code and do this but i need help, i have a read from a pm400 that is in the right range can i change something in the hex code so i can use this code plug. thank you John C.

Im a bit confused. the range should be much wider than 465-470. I have a PM400 with channels from 451 - 468 mhz. What does the bandsplit show when you read the radio ?

Model number, please so we can determine what you really have there.

The UHF PM400 is available in two splits: 438-470 and 465-495.

The Model no. is AAM50SPF9AA3AN THE LOWEST FREQUENCY IS 465.00 TOP WILL GO AS HIGH AS 512 THE ONLY THING I SEE THAT IS ODD IS THE SPF I THINK THE RADIOS WERE A SP MODEL FOR THIS RANGE.

SPF is correct and normal. Right from the Motorola manual:

S = 465-495 MHz
P = 25-40W
F = PM400
9 = Programmable
AA = Conventional MDC
3 = 64 mini-U (64 Channels, mini UHF antenna connector)

Not special production. Those are "S" split radios. Info on how to take those radios out of band has been posted here numerous times.

You do it by typing PM400 band hack into the search box, there you'll find a discussion on region hacking, scroll down to the post by toshi x and you'll find a post on changing the frequency limits. Be aware that doing this means that the radio is no longer FCC approved.
