I am buying some new HT1250's
with limited keypads - can you program a one touch zone change button ?

If not that stinks changing zones is a pain

No. And yes, it is a pain.

Perhaps the HT1550 has addressd this problem.

I doubt that since the XTS3000 / 3500 do not have the capability to do that, maybe the XTS 2500 or the XTS5000 will address that one, but you know the guys at "M" who design radios are not cops or firemen or regular people that use the stuff daily.

I understand that if you disassemble the mode (channel) select switch and remove the end stop pin you can enable a feature in RSS to make the radio have continuous tune throughout the zones/modes. This was placed in the radios for trunking on certain radios.

Did anyone ever try this yet? Does it work?

That's pretty interesting Jim, I may try it if I get time. I hadn't heard that one.

Which model are you referring to? The HT1250 or XTS?

I can verify that removing the stop within the channel switch of an HT1250 DOES NOT WORK. It just starts over again at channel one. Maybe this works on a trunking HT1250 LS model, but I don't have any of those.

Did you reconfigure this with CPS? I remember seeing something about this. It would be nice to do this!

If what you are referring to is the
field for changing the rotary switch properties, it (on vers. 6.01 CPS) is a view-only field, you can't change it. Have you seen something else?

I never tried this- I just remember seeing it in CPS. I do recall somebody saying that they had successfuly done this, but haven't yet seen it.
