Adding a VRS 750 to a dashmount XTL5000

Adding a VRS 750 to a dashmount XTL5000

Greetings:

I just purchased a mint condition XTL5000 dash mount and want to install a VRS 750. I've got the VRS and cable, but found no place to plug it into the XTL. I am now realizing I need a conversion kit (H1804A) to make it a remote mount radio, because the remote kit has the needed 25pin connector for the VRS. I've been reading about non matching connector boards and kits that don't connect properly, could someone point me to a good source of information regarding the topic. I want the conversion to go smoothly.
