Hey Guys,
Working on an sm50 VHF that has an open squelch problem. The radio is programmed with TPL in Tx and Rx. The Rx light blinks constantly and if the radio mic is removed from mic clip there is constant noise from the speaker (as if in permanent monitor mode). The radio receives fines and when in mic clip the squelch opens at about -119dBm with the proper tone. The radio does transmit but has no transmit audio. Have tried different mics. Not sure if the two problems are related or not. I have disabled all of the buttons on the radio to make sure its not somehow getting into constant monitor mode.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jamie

Re: SM50 Constant Open Squelch
as an added note, when i go into the service menu of the radio with rss(specifically tx freq warp) the radio behaves normally when not transmitting. The green light is on and the receiver is happy. The frequency error is adjusted to -10Hz.

When in the Service section of the RSS, the receiver and transmitter are set to the test frequencies.

Could it be a self quieting frequency or it it picking up a spur on that particular freq ? Try other frequencies with same results ?
Re: SM50 Constant Open Squelch
yes, other frequencies same result.......copied a different codeplug just in case this one was corrupt.....all same result.
