JOY!, I finally programed my ht600's!

After doing all the retraceing and cable checks on my (home built)gentz rib - built on perfboard - with point to point wireing,
i went to the batlabs site and looked at the simple rib schem's.
most simple rib's do not include the "busy" line, hance they
wont program alot of radios that need more then two lines.
i found a pdf file called "simplrib.pdf on the site.
it did include a "busy" line and only used a handfull of parts including a "max232" chip which really makes building the simple rib
easy.
so i built it and at first - it did not work - upon closer inspection of the plans - i noticed that the author of the schematic did not have the two pins connected together at the port - and wanting to use a standard rs232 cable - i connected them at the db 9 plug.
the circut then worked! all of my ht600's are programed!
one of these day's i'll trace out the bad component in the gentz rib i built (someting tells me that it is in the busy line's somewhere).
what have i learned?
1 if you do not want to build the rib(s) buy the real deal!
it works out of the box.
2 if you do want to build the gentz rib - buy the board - it makes replacing parts and checking your wireing easy'er
i case all you expermenter's need a link to the YO3HCV circut
it's on batlabs.com under "this one"
