Has anyone done any testing with a XPR 6300 series handhelds comparing the 3.5 inch UHF Stubby Antenna to the 5.5 Inch UHF Antenna ?
I'm trying to find out if there is much difference in the performance between the two antennas.
Thanks

Re: XPR HT UHF Antenna Question
On MT2000 and Astro Sabers it does make a lot of difference.
We use the EXC450SF antennas.

Re: XPR HT UHF Antenna Question
I did testing with XPR6550 radios. It is a big difference for them as well. The 3.5 inch stubby is for the mic hanging off a lapel and the 5.5 is expected to be on the radio itself. Stick to the 5.5 on the radio. The 3.5 inch doesn't work well on the radio. (Does make it a lot easier to carry though. If all of your comms are in the same building it might work for you though.)

Re: XPR HT UHF Antenna Question
While this thread is for comparing the 2 UHF antennas on the XPR6550, I must say on the XPR7550, the UHF stubby works just as well as the non stubby version. My 7550 with the stubby, & non stubby antenna can receive stations in Miami that the 6550 with a 6" Jedi antenna can not hear. GARY
