Genuine Motorola Jedi batteries

Do all genuine Motorola Jedi batteries (MT2000, MTS2000 etc) have a letter "M" engraved on the outside of the battery.
I have two Jedi batteries which "look" like real Motrola batteries (labels etc say Motorola) but they don't have an "M" on the outside of the battery. They were used on ex ambulance radios together with a "Multiplier" battery. All 3 batteries have leaked while an oriiginal Motorola from the same batch is still OK...all of them are around 10 years old.
