My XPR6550 is my first Mototrbo radio. It seems to take a long time to startup, maybe 4 seconds or longer. All of the older Motorola HTs I have are pretty much instant on. Is this "bootup" time normal, and because the radio is loading the Mototrbo firmware? Just curious.

Yes it is... even the "newer" (2nd gen) Trbo stuff I have is slow to power up, just as you describe.
