Fatal Error 01/90 After Firmware Update on XPR5550e

I have a new to me XPR550e. I received it used, it had R02.23.01.3001 firmware. The previous owner didn't erase the code plug I decided to do a recovery and start with a new code plug. I downloaded and installed the same R02.23.01.3001 firmware. I selected Recover from CPS and it wrote the firmware. However now I have a Fatal Error 01/90 after the radio turns on. I probably made matters worse when I thought something may have just gone wrong with the recovery, so I recovered again, but I used a newer version R02.24.01.1002 firmware from Feb 24. Still have the same Fatal Error. The CPS can read and write from the radio without issue. Also, CPS will not let me downgrade back to the original firmware.

How bad have I screwed this up? Any ideas on how or IF I can recover it?

Thank you for your time!

It is probably hosed.. You may have to send it into the Depot but the repair is probably more than the price you paid. You can erase a codeplug by just using a blank one you can get in CPS16 and save it then open it on 2.0 and Copy and paste it to the target radio. Stacking firmware is not a good idea when trying to recover a radio

That is a good tip for future issues. Just save a blank code plug from CPS16. I wish I would have thought of that 48 hours ago... THANKS!

The Fatal Error occurred after writing the exact same firmware that was already on the radio. I purchased it from a vendor who is willing to take the radio back. We believe the firmware update may have just bricked the head. Because both programming cables seem to communicate with the radio body just fine. There seems to be an issue with the body communicating with the head. We will find out in a few days I suppose. I appreciate the input.
