So i wish to flash my HT 1550 so that i can enable the FPP. i have been reading on w9cr's wiki and there is pretty good info about the topic.
However when i open the firmware link it opens a page with i guess its a bunch of code? just curious if anyone knows how to do the un official firmware update to enable the front pannel programing. i will be using this radio on the 2 meter ham band.

Well, it isn't really a "flash code" per se, but rather a modified firmware version that bypasses the need for the "red battery".

You need to download the firmware file (not open it), and then use the flash tool mentioned on W9CR's site. If you read and poke around, everything you need is there.
