Does anyone have a rough estimate of what MTS2000 front display/keypad covers with the display parts cost used? I remember seeing one here and there on ebay but none are up there now. I just don't remember how much they were going for.
I have some RF decks, a controller, knobs, controls, back plate, etc....you can see what I'm getting at here I guess.

I think I have a controller, I just need the display and front cover with keypad. Any idea what those usually run?

That's exactly it. BUT does it work? With my luck with ebay lately that "not tested" frightens me.
I was searching on there earlier and didn't see that one though.

Thanks

Yeah, it is listed as an MT2000 in the title, but in the pic it is an MTS. You probably wouldn't have picked it up searching for MTS, I just happened to stumble across it a few days ago. Was thinking of getting it as a spare. The not tested bothers me too, but hey, for $40 I think I would roll the dice (just my opinion!)

I'm broke as a joke right now but hell, I might do some thinking and dig in the couch cushions for some change for this one.
Maybe you can help me with this one.
I have a controller that came out of an MTX 900 mhz radio, smartnet 16 channels. It looks almost identical to an MTS controller with the same memory chips etc...
I wonder if a guy could blank it, reload it with an mts, or mt2000 code plug then throw a vhf deck on it with that display cover. It sounds like one hell of a long shot but would be a neat project if it worked.
Somehow I don't think it's that easy though.

Wish I could help you there. Mainly I am an end user, that can do some non-technical work on most radios.

You can load an MTS2000 VHF codeplug into it with LAB RSS, and it'll take. I'm not sure what the extra "hearclear" circuitry will do to your audio though. Normally nothing with the option turned off in the RSS, but since the radio will think it's a VHF instead of 900MHz, it may do wierd things either way.
