MT1000 scan programming and QuikCall II

Post by rescuer »

Greetings,

I recently purchased a MT1000 VHF radio. When programming the scan through RSS, if I enable Priority PL scan it seems to drop the PL when scanning. If I enable nonpriority PL scan it seems to keep the PL. Am I doing something wrong? I only notice it on one channel, (the other scan list channels have no nearby counties on the same frequencies).

I had an MT1000 years ago and don't recall this happening, although it could have and I just don't remember.

Also, is it possible to program an MT1000 to function as a pager? I tried setting the receive squelch as QCII (with the proper tones). It receives as if carrier squelch. I would like to have a deciated channel to function as a pager in Alert mode.

Any help would be apprieciated,

Tracy Brooks

Not sure about the PL Problem but I use one channel in my mt1000 as a pager with a two tone alert.

If memory serves, Prioroty channels scan CSQ on the MT1000, regardless of channel programming. Just the way it is, I'm afraid (that and the eight member scan list...)

To use QCII on a channel, when you first switch to the channel, the channel will be CSQ. Momentarily pressing the top (monitor) button activates the QCII squelch, and the radio will remain muted until the correct QCII call is decoded.

Once a call is decoded, the radio will alert, if so programmed, and revert to CSQ reception.

It is reset by pressing the Monitor button again.

Hope that helps.
