I've tried to open a personal account with hutton and it asks for an account number...if you dont have an account how in the world do they expect you to come up with an account number before you even sign up. also i went to the local auto zone looking for power distribution blocks and they said they did not carry them. ive heard lots of people here say they buy alot of install supplies from autozone. i cant even find them on the website. if anyone has any info on either of those questions please let me know.

Anthony, I don't know how many marine stores you have there, but you may want to check them out for power distribution blocks. I use them in a lot of my vehicles and they work just fine. ONE heavy guage pair from battery or high current tap to the block....and all radios from it.

An eight terminal dual strip model (including input) costs $12-$14 and will handle 35 amps.....

When I was re-doing my truck, I needed a lot of that kind of stuff. I found that the auto-part store didn't have jack.

I went next door to West Marine and I wa in heaven. Terminal strips, battery posts, fuse panels, circut breakers, everything. And anything was available in a waterproof model as well.

I'll second that. We have a West Marine store here in the Puget Sound region as well (actually, several of them), and they proved to be a great source of small electrical parts for the 'TechMobile.'

One of the more useful things I got from them was flexible grommet strip. The stuff is wonderfully versatile! It allows you to line the edge of -any- size of hole so that you can put wires through without fear of abrasion, and it comes in at least two different widths (for different panel thickness).

West Marine also carries the 'good' type of crimp-on lugs -- the ones with the second metal sleeve for strain relief.

Do a search for Del City and TST

Del City isn't bad. Tessco has every you'll need but they are expensive in that area.

I found everything I needed at AutoZone and Advanced Auto Parts. I few of the obscure odds and ends I had a friend order for me through the local Ace hardware store.

Try anywhere that has any kind of little its and peices of anything. The marine store was a place I hadn't thought of but if you live in an area that has many marinas... that would certainly do the trick.

Also give a look at Parts Express on the internet. I forget the address off hand but it's probably something silly that my weary mind can't come up with at the moment.

Thanks guys, I would have never thought of it but West Marine Online was where I needed to go...I found everything I was looking for. Wonderful place for install parts.
