XTS3000 Encryption Cloning?

Post by kd7cra »

If I have a radio that already has an encryption key programmed into it is there anyway that I can read that key from the radio and clone it, or program it into another radio?
Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan,

I don"t believe you can. Each radio would have to be individually loaded with an encryption loader, just like you can't clone system keys from one trunked radio to another. If you find out a way to do it. I would be interested in knowing how it was done.

What radios do you own?: APX / Astro 25 / Harris

Keys CANNOT be shared from radio to radio - this would defeat the security protocol - part of which is keeping the key itself secure.

DX KVL's and te KVL3000 can share keys with other keyloaders but that's it!

My 3011BX KVL manual has a few pages on transferring keys from one KVL to another so this could be done since at least the "BX" era.
