Can you add an led or light to show when the radio is active (maybe on the speaker itself) - I know the radio has a small yellow-red light - I am looking for something extra - bigger
You can program the unit to have pin 8 go to ground whenever it receives a valid carrier by enabling "Car Radio Mute" (F4,F3,F2,F9 from the main menu). You can use this to activate a relay & light or whatever you want to setup.
Be advised - there is an issue with this pin sometimes not grounding in trunked mode when receiving a valid talkgroup, but that doesn't seem to happen in conventional.
