Help with HT1250 DTMF encode

I have an HT1250 full keypad, programmed with one Phone system and a Phone List with several entries. I can send the stored DTMF strings fine, but cannot live dial from the keypad. When I go into Phone mode and press the keys I get good tactile feedback, but the dialed digits do not appear on the display as they are dialed, and do not encode. This applies whether PTT is pressed before, during or after dialing. In my Phone system, I have Dial Type set to "Live", and Access/Deaccess Type set to "Immediate Auto" (I've also experimented with every other available setting of these two parameters, with negative results). I have Phone System #1 enabled on all personalities. I'm not using this for telephone interconnect, just remote control, so I don't need to send any access/deaccess codes, automatically or otherwise. I just need to be able to live dial DTMF from the keypad. Is this a programming issue or am I simply operating the radio incorrectly (I've read the operators manual). What am I missing? (My codeplug version is 01.07). Thanks.

You need "HOT KEYPAD" enabled in the CPS.

I couldn't find a reference to "Hot Keypad" within any of the CPS screens, however, thanks to your suggestion, I found the fix. It's on the Radio Configuration screen, Basic tab, under Keypad/Microphone Configuration. Changing this from "Programmable-Menu" to "Programmable-Menu/Numeric" did the trick. Thanks alot for your help.
