it doesnt quite work that way, i own a honda accord 2001 ex v6 automatic and im looking for ideas on where possibly to mound lights, i cant drill into the headlights and im not permenantly mounting anything visible.

Then I suppose this means you're left to suction cups and Velcro!

by not permenantly mounting anything visible i mean in terms of lightbar or beacon,
any pics of people installing into the grille or anything like that, what type of lights they used inside would be helpful

you can stick lights anywhere.. especially leds.. i can't fathom how you are having trouble coming up with ideas..
they have visor mounted lights.. suction cups to place things on the windshield... get some small lights and mount L brackets to them and slide them in the headliner...
you've got cable ties, suction cups, velcro....
do you need to come down with a fever to come up with ideas??

obviously people cant understand that im interested in what other people have done to a car like mine, is its such a crime to ask what other people have done and ask for pics without someone making me look like a fool for asking?

dude, chill...
ingenuity, creativity....it's all in the mind. take a small grille light, or a small dummy light...and put it in different places on your car and see if it will be visible, or if it is feasible an then work back from there.
for a pizza and a beer and gas money i'll drive to where you are in CT and bypass all the thinking for you...

haha sure as long as you bring some lights i can use
finds are limited, anyone have a review on the whelen talon dashlight and if the different patterns it has are that good?

I use a whelen talon and personally i feel it is a very effective light. It looks good , small and concealable and the price is resonable also.

still trying to find that elusive "real job" thing they told you about in fire1?
and careful about my payment, i could put a hurtin on enough pizza and gas so that you'll spend more on that than on das blinkenlighten...

Jason618 wrote:how is the size in comparison with a dashmiser II plus?
the talon and the double talon are gonna be a little shallower than the dashmiser, and a little less tall...so if you go for a slick headliner mount, it will sit closer to the roof than a dash or a dual dashmiser.. width wise....i think they're close.
but if you're funds limited....start donatin'!

yeah thats exactly what im looking for, something VERY bright like visibile in the day that will sit nicley up close to my roof, the dashmiser doesnt do that.

Bro..
You just have to mess with it till you get what you want. I had a 1990 Ford Probe with a 48" Whelen edge 9000 on it...It worked. I now have a 2002 Mist. Galunt and I mounted 3 Code3 RVM strobes in it 2-in back 1- on windshield....and it is bright as hell. Just play with it till you get what you like as long as it is leagel ..there you go.

my guess is yes, those are new mirror lights. Either they're proably from a later model car that had turn indicators in the mirror housing and are a close fit or 1 for 1 compatible with that camry, OR, someone did the sickest mounting and lens install i've EVER seen in a stock set....that was a sexy move to bury some LEDs in there, have to admit...never thought of THAT move.

I had to re-read it to make sure. A probe with a 48" lightbar. ::chuckle:: (Adds that to the list of vehicles that need not have lightbars).

thats just wrong aint it.. spotlight on a camry?
I once saw a POS minivan that had a spotlight AND pushbar as well as a full mx7000 lightbar. some people I tell you..
As for the led in the mirrors.. I think it is all custom. Unless it is a modified version of mirror turnsignals or something. Very nice looking though.
The site's page is about customer installs so I would imagine it's more custom than modified.
I hoped that sparked some imaginative juices.

The camry's mirrors are fabricated from another vehicle to fit the camry. The camry didn't come with mirrors in that style mount.

I had a 2001 Honda Accord that I used for response. I outfitted that vehicle with a Federal Signal Firebeam that I placed on the dashboard with some velcro. I then had two dual Whelen slimlighters mounted on the back deck with velcro. I was planning to install a pair of Whelen TIR3 in the grill but never got to do it since I switched vehicles. The velcro I used were the heavy duty strips that I bought from Radio Shack, they are much more stronger and provide a stiffer mounting surface than ordinary velcro. I would suppose that you can do the same thing with the Talons for the rear deck, just play around with bail bracket to see were it will fit in snugly. As for the front if you mount it on the dash it should be no problem, although I did find the space between the rear view mirror and the headliner console limited.

Its been a while just seein if anyone did any new installs....if you notice on mine under the car stero there is a small storage area for maps and stuff...there is a plastic piece I was able to pull out...(with no damage to the car) it can be put back in there. And then was able to mount my radio to the car and have aneverything running from anderson power pole connector system. Anyone mount a tablet pc in their honda. I would like to do this for a table pc and a run a gps. Click below for pic of my install and comment or questions appreciated

The side mirror turn signal lights are EASY to get. A ton of aftermarket manufacturers making them to add to any vehicle. There is a lot of them on eBay, just search, if your driving a popular make and model of vehicle your in luck.
I used to have a 95 Dodge Neon, there is lighted mirrors available for that on eBay for about $40-$60 depending on color, finish, lighting color, etc.
They even have them with blue, amber, and green. Amber of course makes it a nice stock turn signal. But, it would be super easy for someone with PS lighting needs to just use a blue one and run it off a flasher with the rest of the lighting instead of using it as the intended turn signal. And of course one can add LED's into it.
A nearby PD has a red on one side and a blue on the other, and they alternate left to right. Not only that, but it still has the stock turn signal amber LED's in there. Dual purpose and looks really nice. Easy to add to, just dissasemble and put in some additional led's and run the wiring through the stock loom in the doorjamb, if you sell the vehicle down the road you could disconnect the wiring and just leave them in there, nobody would ever know.

ref the Camry w/spotlight...
by the way the handle is turned, it looks like it's mounted to the door. we had an '01 CVPI that came with the street appearance package and had a spotlight
added to the door, and it sucked. I can only imagine how much of a pain that must be when they use it for "official duties"
