CDM1550ls+ CPS issues..????

i have a cdm 1550ls+ but having problems using just conventional.....what am i missing....all i want is conventional no ltr ....new to cps...familiar with rss......it seems to allow me 18 conventional channels available...this also seems strange.....unit comes up with "searching" i deleted the ltr zone and unit still comes up searching......
