Assistance - Install, how to...?

Ok, here is what I am attempting to do:

1.) Walk in rescue. Run 1 VHF mobile radio with two control heads. Using either CDM1250's or 1550's. I know I need a remote but what piece do I need to connect both control heads to the same radio? A model number might help here.

2.) CDM mobile set for EMERGENCY DECODE. I want to enable the radio to sound an audible alert or trigger a light on the apparatus so that we know the "little orange button" has been pushed. Any suggestions? Reason for this is Dispatch is a little less than perfect and concerns have been raised about "MAN DOWN" issues.

Thanks,
Mike

Quick mount has a remote system for those radios go to there web site I dont know it right of had but I do know they have the system you need...for what your trying to do..as for the emergency decode I haven't had anybody ask me about that... I dont know if there is something in the 16 pin connector that you could interface with... I will have to look into it.....how do you think you want it to work....when man down is activated you want a light on the truck to notify you... ???????

Basically, yes. Right now we have a green strobe that is utilized as a COMMAND POST identifier. I would rather make this trip on MAN DOWN and then anyone can look at the screen to see who is DOWN. Most of the radios have unique call lists with either the persons name and unit number or assigned position on the truck.

And yes, QuickMount is exactly what I am looking for - THANKS! :D

You can program pin 4 of the CDM1550 as alarm output. According to the help files, it will be triggered by an incoming MDC Emergency Alarm. use it to run a relay of your choice & run whatever you wish.

Todd,
Is that in the book or on the net somewhere? I would like to read more about this.

Its in the program under 16 pin plug but you may not have to change anthing its been along time since i have messed with it...when i did it was in a turkey farm and it was oppisite it triggered when something was recived and then keyed the radio and paged someone.....but in your case when MDC is recived it sends a 12v signal to pin 4 and it would control a relay to turn on your green strobe...... Im going to look in the program to see if your going to needto change anything But i would listen to Todd he knows what hes talking about...

Pin 4

I looked in the programing and to have pin 4 as alarm output in Radio Configuration under Accessory pins it needs to be changed to Public Addres.... or just leave in Default and change pin 4 to External Alarm Output.... how ever you want to do it.....

It's all in the CPS help files...basically says the alarm output can be triggered by a call alert/sel call, MDC emergency, and I believe an MDC Status or Message, but I don't have the CPS in front of me to confirm the last two.
