2 things...
First of all... Bench seats were NOT an option for the 2000 MY PI
Secondly... Switching to bucket seats is EASY and sounds like it might be a better idea in the long run.
There are a few consoles here and there that fit below the factory HVAC, removing the cup holders in the process. By the time you buy the console, mounting base and equipment brackets, you probably could have already paid for a set of PI bucket seats...

I'll second those thoughts. Ditch the bench for buckets and then you can do whatever you want. If you want cheap, start calling the junk yards.

I'll have to write that in to my order book...
I had no clue they went with a bench LOL...
2nd page on the lower left hand side:
Bucket seats standard*
*Bench seats not available on P71 option package
Never known Ford to be incorrect LOL

it was some special install for the detective that had this car (it isnt a full bench seat) its the same seats ford puts in the LX models they are split but they have armrest where the normal command console would go. does this make better sense?

There's a 2 and 3 unit stacking rack that can be bought for like $30.
you could unstall about 2-3 units by taking out the ashtray.
