Most of our mobiles at work are getting pretty dated. I am just wondering what suggestions you guys have for new conventional VHF high band mobile transceivers for public safety. It looks like the Spectra W9 is currently top of the line.

I'll third that, I wouldn't take anything for my TK-790, or my 290, as far as that goes.

Not that I don't like the CDM, it is a nice little radio. But testing here has revealed the TK-x90 series mobiles have better sensitivity and TX properties than the CDM Series. But, then again the CDM costs $400 and the TK-x90 costs almost $1,000. But it would be a well spent $1,000.
The control head on the 90 series have some serious water and weather resistance. Thats why they don't use the typical RJ-12 microphone jack

Comnet, MaCom, Ericsson, GE (whatever it is this week) Orion or M7100
Nice radio, easy to program, good sensitivity, durabale, and you can do a dual radio set up with one control head.
I'm real impressed with these radios!
