Sounds like the onboard fuse. Do a search here and you'll see a few posts about it.

Don't forget to check the ignition sense wire for +12 volts.

I have also seen the actual ON/OFF switch contacts in the radio go bad.
With the vibration in a Semi, it could be that or the plug connectors in the radio. If you have the two TORX drivers, open that baby up and slide the plugs on and off in case of poor contact.

Yes, that is the fuse. I have had friends' radios go because they spliced it into either the stereo circuit or some other hot lead. While you can do that, sometimes you will get problems from that wiring because of other items on the same circuit. Make sure your radio's power connector is on good, the cable connected firmly to its power source and the vehicle's battery grounded to chassis properly.
