MT1000 MDC man down: programming, cloning

Basic questions (never worked with these before):

1. Can the MT1000 MDC on a 16ch VHF be completely disabled and the unit used without the MDC capability (suspect an easy 'yes')

2. Can "regular" units (i.e. same breed but without the MDC) be cloned to a MDC-equipped unit (assuming the MDC capability, or unit 'B' in cloning, is desired to be operated w/o MDC option)?

3. Are the MDC options present in the normal RSS for when an MDC unit is programmed, or do these have another version of software all their own?

Thanks! Again, sorry, never worked on these b4.

1) Yes
2) Not 100% sure as I've never tried it, but I suspect yes.
3) Same RSS for all options.

Thanks Bob. As you suspect, I also assume cloning would be permitted, as if when the original non-MDC unit was pgmmed, in RSS any MDC options would be disabled for it, so I assume these would simply carry right over the the MDC-equipped unit as not enabled. Just another curiousity in our experimentation with MT1000's.

MT1000 "pro's", I have a couple other MT1000 questions in other threads, and invite comment to them (and this MDC thread as well)

Thanks!

Sure was - my eyes almost blew out of their sockets when I just checked in! I changed it back to regular color. The yellow was almost impossible to see in the thread, but was very pleasing to view when signed in (against the black background).

Anyway, thanks!!!
